Denver South Economic Development Partnership

Jake Rishavy, vice president of innovation for Denver South Economic Development Partnership, has been selected as a winner in the economic-development profession’s 40 Under 40 awards, the only award of its kind recognizing young talent.

An independent six-member selection committee evaluated and chose the winners based on their exceptional contributions to the economic-development industry. The award’s program was managed by Development Counsellors International, a New York-based firm that specializes in economic-development marketing.

“We are honored to see Jake recognized for his significant contributions to the Denver South technology and startup community,” said Mike Fitzgerald, Denver South EDP’s CEO. “The award is well deserved and we are fortunate to have him in our realm and on our team.”

Rishavy has been with the organization since 2012, leading its efforts to grow a thriving network of entrepreneurial technology startups. His work has included co-founding Prime Health, a network of innovative health-technology companies, as well as co-founding TechrIoT, a network of companies pushing the edges of innovation in the emerging field of the internet of things. Rishavy currently heads up Denver South EDP’s smart-cities initiatives.

DCI’s 40 Under 40 award was designed to discover the economic-development profession’s rising stars.

“The people chosen by the selection committee represent a bright future for the economic-development world,” said Andy Levine, president of DCI. “They are a new breed of results-driven place makers. We’re very pleased to see Jake among the winners.”

Zach Patton, executive editor at Governing magazine, is a 40 Under 40 selection-committee member.

“I was impressed by the energy and dedication of these developers,” he said. “Their passion for good economic development really stood out in their smart innovations, thoughtful programs and cool ideas.”

DCI officially announced the winners last week at an awards ceremony and will feature an in-depth profile of each on its website during 2017.
